The general ticket sale opened for Brighton Pride at 10am today Friday, February 21 with revellers buzzing with excitement at the prospect of seeing headliners Mariah Carey and The Sugababes over the two-day festival, which takes place on Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3. Brighton Pride is Britain's second largest pride event after London, and sees a riotous parade through the streets of Brighton, arguably the country's gay capital, as well as a weekend of concerts in Preston Park. According to organisers, planning for the festival is well under way. The event kicks off with the annual pride parade on Saturday, August 2, a free event for spectators who can watch a colourful array of floats from city charities, community groups, local businesses and blue light services parade through the city before culminating in a march across the famous promenade.
